PROJECTS
SHIVASRUSHTI 1974
1974 was the Tri-centenary anniversary of coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The Trust planned to conceive a grand celebration to mark this historical event. This magnificent celebration was in the form of multi-faceted exhibition on open ground of Shivaji Park in Mumbai. The ambitious project was designated as ‘Shivsrushti’ the constitution of Shivaji Maharaj.
VYAKHYANMALA
Shri Babasaheb Purandare is a revolutionary historian who has invoked the history through every possible medium. Being a great orator that he is - Babasaheb started giving public lectures on the subject of ‘Shivacharitra’ – Biography of Shivaji Maharaj.
PUBLICATIONS
Books, novels and articles penned and published by Shri Babasaheb Purandare is the most valuable treasure of Marathi literature. Babasaheb is as gifted author as he is flawless & fluent orator. ‘History should be told in every house, to every mother, to every child and even it should reach to every infant!.
AUDIO RECORDINGS
To promote the ideology of Shivaji Maharaj, Babasaheb effectively adopted every prevailing communication medias. He did not just stop by delivering public lectures, publishing books, organising exhibitions...he recomposed his exhilarating research and presented it to masses in most accessible format by creating audio cassettes, CDs.
HISTORICAL SHOWS
Shri. Babasaheb identified the pulse of common people in context with entertainment & made best use of this knowledge to create awareness about history. Stage shows is one more popular media which he explored for this cause. Dramatic historical events can be efficiently projected through stage shows.
RESEARCH & EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Various projects undertaken by Pratishthan have created a platform to engage with glorious past & celebrate the cultural wealth of our land. However, in order to accomplish these tasks successfully, a multidisciplinary team has been involved for research & development work.
THE MEGAPROJECT - SHIVASRUSHTI
Standing as silent sentinels to history are the 350-odd forts of Maharashtra. They are the last lingering memories of Maratha Empire. Surviving forts are the tangible link between contemporary society of Maharashtra & the era of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Shivaji Maharaj established independent Maratha Empire from these forts…hence historical value of these forts is immeasurable.
ABOUT JANATA RAJA
A highly celebrated masterpiece, magnum opus based on life history of chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj - a full length historical opera which is enacted with clocklike precision on the background of splendid scenography and digitally recorded 4-track sound.
